Like everybody in the world, we're locked down but that doesn't mean we are not doing anything. First our next album is almost mixed, and then our singer, Sébastyén D., was asked to play some songs for Cargo! So here they are : River and the Echo and the Bunnymen's great song, Killing Moon.

Here we are, the new EP - Dark Shines - is out ! 6 songs, including some murder ballads, dark folk and gothic blues sounds. The EP is available on digital and (soon) on cd (digifile). Thanks to all of you and Attuned Records. Go to bandcamp to listen to the EP and/or purchase it. Merci !! (mgmt)
Sébastyén D. : The Pygmalion’s Dreams was born little by little, in the abstract. Since the beginning of Opium Dream Estate, I played, covered and sometimes recorded songs - for EP, albums, tribute compilations or for myself only - by bands and artists that meant, and still do, a lot to me. A couple of months ago I started to listen to those covers and decided to make a compilation out of it. Some of them were recorded for the TPD project (that spawned almost ten years of recording… )
For those who know me, supporting me, they will notice that some bands, artists are missing, like Led Zeppelin, Mark Lanegan, Rory Gallagher, Oasis, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden or BRMC… The reason is that I know it would have sound “plain”, without nothing new to offer. I’m not saying that the songs I covered are “amazing” or even “better than the original - I’m not trying to be that smart - but I think (and I hope) that they sound different, that I add my vision and style within the song - even when it sounds “similar” to the original version.
The Pygmalion’s Dreams is just a tribute to bands, artists or even songs that have a lot of meaning to me, that influenced me and gave me the will and strength to be a musician and play in a band. I hope you will enjoy it.
